Lamont’s Swan Valley is proud to announce and warmly welcomes the arrival of the 2019 Chardonnay. Made from grapes sourced from Margaret River’s Edinger Estate vineyard, initially barrel fermented and lees stirred in second use French barriques. Following completion of fermentation, the settled wine received a further five month barrel maturation prior to recent bottling. Although young, the wine is aromatic and generous. The subtle use of oak together with developed stone fruit flavours allow for a complete and satisfying wine. Join with Scott from Lamont’s in relishing the return of a cellar door favourite! $35/bottle, $378/doz
A heady lift of lychee, spiced floral aromas on the bouquet lead to a weighty medium-sweet palate of luscious cumquat and marmaladelike fruits. As the name suggests, thirty-nine grams of residual sugar left in the finished wine produce the perfect aromatic partner for strong cheeses and Asian-spiced dishes. An adventurous wine for adventurous people. Alc/Vol 13.6% Enjoy in the short term ‘In summer make sure you over chill! Find your favourite cheese and add some seasonal fruits, sprinkle some toasted cashews and enjoy!’
Intense deep black/burgundy in colour with a distinctive magenta rim. Displaying fragrant violet and dark jube aromatics, Lamont’s signature red is made from single vineyard Donnybrook fruit. A deliciously deep brooding Malbec with cool black fruits, dark chocolate, liquorice and a mouth-filling richness. A persistent finish completes the seamless wine which has the ability to age into a more savoury beast! Alc/Vol 14.5% Drink now or cellar in the long term. ‘Have a monster meal of roasted & braised lamb shanks with rosemary & roasted duck fat potatoes! Don’t hold back! Do it! THE MONSTER WILL COPE!’
100% fruit from Lamont’s 25 yr old ‘Back Block’ Swan Valley Shiraz vines. A vibrant dark plum colour with attractive oak induced spicy nose, the wine’s silky palate displays the richness of ripe sweet blackberries. A soft, elegant medium weight style with fine tannins and a satisfying length of flavour. Alc/Vol 14.5% Drink now or cellar in the medium term. ‘The ripe fruit along with the soft tannins in the shiraz works so well with so many dishes. A simple rogan josh with a fragrant rice will make the shiraz stand out and take notice! Don’t forget me!’
A blend of premium Margaret River Semillon (70%) and Sauvignon Blanc (30%). The wine is bright and inviting with the Semillon contributing a citrus balance and generous mouthfeel to the punchy bouquet of tropical fruits, fresh cut crass and herbal notes of the Sauvignon Blanc component. A happy union to be enjoyed while young and fresh. Alc/Vol 12.5% Enjoy in the short term ‘For many years we have served a pea & pecorino dip with local crab meat dressed with crème fraîche, it’s always perfect with our SSB.’
Perfect seasonal conditions allowed for a small selection of Lamont’s back block Shiraz to be made into this fortified style which is aged in the bottle rather than in oak. Inky purple/black in appearance, with liquorice, spice aniseed and coffee on the bouquet. Sumptuous favours of intense plum and fruit cake fill the palate up to the satisfying traditional dry finish. Maturing nicely at the moment, the wine can be enjoyed now but will continue to develop complexity for the next ten to fifteen years. Alc/Vol 19.00 Drink now or cellar in the long term ’Our fortifieds have been made to sip & savour! However by grabbing your favourite chocolate, cake, dessert or cheese these wines can be enjoyed and act as a buffer to the “opening” of another table wine that could possibly put you in the hurt locker tomorrow! Please enjoy.’ - Corin Kate & Fiona
