“Howard Vineyard is a second generation family owned business. Over the past 20 years we have built a reputation for premium grape growing in the Adelaide Hills; one of Australia’s most exciting regions. The Adelaide Hills is about more than wine, it’s a way of thinking, we welcome the new and challenge the traditions with a youthful confidence. The Adelaide Hills is where we chose to make our wine and live our lives.”
Wine maker Tom Northcott has worked in the wine industry since 2013 spending much of his time working in the vineyards at Howard Vineyard growing up and later in the cellar door for many years. This gave Tom his passion for wine. After completing his Bachelor of Oenology and Viticulture in 2011 Tom spent time with Peter Lehman’s, Grant Burge, Houghton’s wines as well as time in the South of France with Chateau Guilheim. At this time Tom came back to run the family estates and wine company Howard Vineyard in 2014.
Tom’s approach is to pick at optimal ripeness for lean flavours to showcase the quality and true expression of our vineyards. A young dynamic winemaker constantly trialing new age techniques to make the most delicious Adelaide Hills Wine possible. Supported by the wealth of knowledge and occasional sledging of the boss Ian Northcott. Tom loves wines which are light to medium body with vibrant flavours and great natural acidity. Reflecting the Howard Vineyard style.
